Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif’s wife Kulsoom Nawaz, who is currently undergoing treatment for lymphoma, has been discharged from hospital.
Kulsoom was admitted to the Harley Street clinic in an emergency on Sunday morning and discharged after 10 hours. Her sons, Hasan and Hussain Nawaz, had brought her to the hospital.
On March 6, the tumor on the neck of wife of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif was diagnosed again and was taken to hospital for further medical tests.
Begum Kalsoom Nawaz had undergone three cancer surgeries and seven chemotherapy session so far.
According to the son of Begum Kalsoom Nawaz, Hassan Nawaz said that her mother’s various tests- Scan, CT Scan, Galium Scan and PET Scan have been conducted last week.
” Doctors informed that diagnosed with lymphoma, a cancer of the lymph nodes on the left side of her neck, has been appeared again and they are mulling over the more surgery and radio therapy,” he said.
Lymphoma is currently the fifth most common cancer diagnosed by clinicians in the UK (after breast, lung, colon and prostate cancers). It is the most common blood cancer.
Lymphoma can occur at any age. It is the most common cancer affecting those under the age of 30 and around 1 in 10 cancers diagnosed in children are lymphomas.
According to various definitions, Lymphoma is a type of blood cancer that affects blood cells called lymphocytes and the lymphocyte-producing cells in your body.
